I didn't know what to expect when heading to my next destination. I got to the Refugio state beach around noon and got a cheap spot. Normally the hiker/biker spots are little spots with no shade in a horrible location. However, this spot was right on the beach and was in some nice shade. It was foggy up until about three in the afternoon then finally cleared up. It was such a nice day and I spent the day just hanging out on the beach trying to work on my horrible tan. Later on, three cyclists came through and we ended up hanging out, drinking beer. They had been doing the trip from San Fran down to LA every summer since 1984. They called themselves "The Tree Amigos" which was pretty funny because I have been seeing that name spray painted on the bike path many times along the coast. The campsite tomorrow is also along the coast so I hope it's just as good.
